Our trip to Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus was a great venue for 3 rounds of golf and 5 nights all inclusive. I organised accommodation, flights and golf for 12 members of Nazeing GC who thoroughly enjoyed their time! As 2 of the members had birthdays' on our arrival date, I thought it would be rude not to arrange some drinks on arrival and a big chocolate birthday cake for the evening...tasty!
As you can imagine, their were a few sore heads the morning after but our practice day was calling. I arranged a few skills challenges on the putting green to warm up as the greens were very fast.
We then moved over to the chipping area, where I demonstrated a variety of shots to explain how the greens will react to different shots and discussed when to play them.
Bunkers...and plenty of them, therefore, a quick re cap on the technique to escape them was essential. I explained and demonstrated a simple but effective technique to give everyone the confidence to get the ball out, 1 person even holed their shot!
After lunch and quick refreshment that was much needed, we made our way to the driving range to brush up on our long game. I made my way along the range to see each person individually to address their particular problem. After 5 hours of coaching, a quick drink from the bar went down quite well before we headed out for dinner and prepared for the competition ahead.
I had prizes for Nearest The Pins each day, an Order Of Merit across the 3 rounds of golf and Par 3 total stableford score.
