Members trip to La Manga in Spain was a great way to spend 6 days in the sun during February. We started with a breakfast fit for champions then made our way to the putting green to commence practice.

I started by explaining the importance of reading greens and gave everyone drills to execute the correct speed to hole putts on the fast greens.

We then moved onto the short game area, where I demonstrated different shots to utilise around the greens whether the ball was lying on a tight lie, buried in the deep rough or playing the different bunker shots. We discussed the benefits and advantages from playing each shot and when to use it, to achieve the best result.

After the hard work, I thought everybody deserved a quick drink and bite to eat before we headed to the driving range.

To conclude the days practice, we made our way to the driving range where we had a group lesson. This gave everyone the opportunity to learn from one another and make sure the their tee shots and shots to the green went straight (well most of the time)

The remaining days were filled with rounds of golf, with the opportunity to win prizes. We had an overall winner, a par 3 winner and 2 nearest the pins each round.
